Junior Achievement of Maine is proud to announce the success of two teams from Yarmouth High School, placing first and second at this year’s 2023 JA Titan National Virtual Competition. This highly engaging event brought students from around the nation together for the opportunity to showcase their business acumen, as they competed as CEOs in the cell phone industry via the Junior Achievement Titan simulation-based computer program.
The JA Titan National Virtual Competition brought together 23 student teams from around the US to make valuable financial decisions around production, marketing, R&D, and corporate social responsibility for their respective virtual cell phone companies. Throughout the competition, participants worked together to evaluate alternative methods of growth, make group decisions, analyze their outcomes between rounds, and strategize how they would move through the stages of building a successful business.
With an incredible group of competitors – winners from their respective regional competitions – it is with great pleasure to recognize two teams from Yarmouth High School as this year’s first and second place finishers.
First Place: Yarmouth One consisting of John Raymond, Truman Peters, and Cornelius Welsh
Second Place: Yarmouth Five, consisting of Bobby Wolff, Will Raymond, and Zach Lattanzi
QUOTE FROM EDUCATOR: “I am very fortunate to work with these fabulous students” said David Pearl, of Yarmouth High School. “Thank you for all the help and support from JA. The new Finance Club leaders (Yarmouth Five) are excited about leading the charge next year!”.
Through their efforts, these young entrepreneurs not only proved their prowess in navigating a complex business scenario at the national level, but also showcased their potential as future leaders in the Maine economy. Junior Achievement, in partnership with Yarmouth High School and JA USA, extends their congratulations to the winning teams for their remarkable achievements.
